NEW COMPILATION ALBUM BY DAY SIX SAMPLES OF GENETIC WISDOM, CAPTURED TO SURVIVE

The Dutch progressive rock/metal formation Day Six will release a compilation album on the FREIA Music label. The album will be entitled "Samples of genetic wisdom, captured to survive". The album contains tracks for the first two albums of Day Six, "The grand design"(2010) and "Eternal dignity" (2003). But it will also includes tracks form the predecessor of Day Six, Peanuts, from the album "Be careful what you wish for..." (2000), plus one or more so far unreleased tracks.

The release of the album celebrates the 10th anniversary of the band working under the name Day Six. But it's also a retrospective of the 18 years collaboration of the band with keyboard-player Dolf van Heugten. Dolf has announced his departure from the band. This compilation album is a farewell present to Dolf to thank him for his contribution to the band all these years.

The album will be released as a strictly limited edition of 500 copies. The luxe edition will contain 2 HQ-vinyl LP's and one CD. The release is planned for november 2012.

Day Six and FREIA Music thank Lion Music for granting a license to realise the album.

Day Six is one of Holland's best known progressive rock-metal bands. After their debut "Eternal dignity" in 2003 they performed with great success in many venues in Holland. This led to the band receiving two musical awards: "The Metal Battle" and the "Aardschok Metal Bash" in 2004. After that the band toured extensively both in Holland but also in Belgium, Germany and the UK. After having played with the same line-up for more than 10 years they released their second album "The Grand Design" on the Finnish label Lion Music. The concept album was a huge success and the band toured as support of Threshold through Germany, Holland and the UK.

Day Six are Daan Liebregts (drums), Eric Smits (bass, vocals) and Robbie van Stiphout (guitars, vocals). The band are currently looking for a new keyboard player. Together with him or her the band will start working on a new studio-album.
